Cyanotype: Sun Printing - Montecito Location
Discover the art of cyanotype, one of the earliest photographic printing processes, first developed in 1842. Using non-toxic, light-sensitive materials, sunlight, and water, you'll create beautiful botanical prints in rich shades of deep blue.
We'll begin by experimenting on watercolor paper before creating your own hand-printed cotton bandana to take home and enjoy. All paper, bandanas, and printing materials are included.
You're welcome to bring a favorite leaf, flower, or small botanical from your garden if there's something special you'd like to incorporate into your design.
Everyone will leave with their botanical cyanotype prints on watercolor paper, a hand-printed cotton bandana, and the knowledge to continue exploring this timeless art form at home.
