CULINARY MEDICINE SERIES: MARCH COOKING WITH SPRING GREENS + AYURVEDIC INSPIRED RECIPES
Every other month we will offer a culinary medicine cooking class. Culinary medicine is the idea that we can give special attention to how food works in the body as well as the sociocultural and pleasurable aspects of eating and cooking.
For our March class, come learn about spring and the seasonal rhythm of renewal through food. Emma Moore, NTP and co-founder of Heritage Goods and Supply will highlight spring greens, the power of resetting and renewal and how to make spring inspired dishes with Ayurvedic principles in mind (we will highlight foods that help move out any lingering winter sluggishness and prepare us for a vibrant, energized spring and summer).
Menu includes:
Stinging Nettle Tea
Dandelion salad with dill, mint and roasted sweet potatoes
Spring quinoa and rice kitchari topped with spring leafy greens and an herb inspired pesto.
We will make and create and then sit down to eat our dishes in communion with each other. All food is plant based and gluten free.
When: Thursday, March 20th, 6-8pm
Instructor: Emma Moore, Co-Founder Women’s Heritage and Heritage Goods and Supply
Location: Heritage Goods and Supply, Carpinteria
*Note: All workshops are final sale, however, there is a 5 person minimum requirement for this class to proceed. If we do not reach 5 participants we will unfortunately have to cancel the class and refund you in full 48 hours before the scheduled workshop.
