On bright days, the poppy’s silky petals open to greet the sun. At dusk, the golden blooms close into tightly fluted repose. These beauties can be grown anywhere. In areas with hard freezes, they are annuals; in temperate regions, perennials. Wherever they are grown, they are sure to bring a splash of sunshine from the Golden State!
