Cooking with Lavender
Class includes a discussion on how to use lavender in cooking, how to grind it for different uses with an herb grinder, coffee grinder or mortar and pestle and which varieties of lavender can be used for culinary purposes. Hands-on time for participants working in pairs or small groups to prepare the items together with assistance from Chef Robin (includes recipes, tastings and hands on instruction):

Lavender Fig & Olive Bread + Crackers
Olive tapenade with lavender
Basil and Lavender Pesto using both the flowers and leaves
Lavender Blueberry No-Bake Cheesecake
- participants will each get to make their own cheesecake to take home

About Robin: Robin Goldstein "Private Chef Robin", author of A Taste of Ojai Cookbooks is a California chef who works her culinary magic combining unique flavors with seasonal local products.
