Sandal Making Workshop

Spend an immersive day with RACHEL SEES SNAIL SHOES making unique sandals for your feet!

You will have a bunch of leather colors and textures to choose from, as well as hardware, laces, heel heights, and the style possibilities are endless. Rachel brings lots of pattern choices, and is confident in helping you make up patterns on the spot.

We’ll explore every step of the sandal-making process, starting off by customizing trusted paper patterns to suit your feet and design preferences. Then we’ll cut and assemble the leather pieces, paying close attention to fit. Next we’ll attach the layers to a heavy leather sole and stacked leather heel, adding nails to secure each connection point.

This class is hard work: be prepared to use utility knives, adhesive, hammers, wooden mallets, shoe anvils, and to get barefoot!

Please bring a packed lunch or snacks, water, and easy to slip on/off shoes are recommended.

No cancellations please! please write if you have any questions.
